TONIGHT @7PM! WRDSB Catchment Area Education-Focused Provincial Candidate Debate
+ More On Upcoming Provincial Candidates Meetings
In case you missed the invite, here is a message from the Waterloo Region Assembly of Public School Councils (WRAPSC):
Dear Parent and guardians of Waterloo Region District School Board,
We wanted to take a moment to invite you to an Education-Focused Debate on February 18th, at Grand River Collegiate, 175 Indian Rd, Kitchener at 7pm.
This is an important opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about their plans for addressing key concerns affecting our children and our schools, including:
The need for more support for our children
Smaller class sizes to improve learning conditions
Failing infrastructure in older schools and the urgent need for repairs and upgrades
Your voice as members of the school community is vital in shaping the conversation around education. This event will provide an opportunity to engage with candidates and gain a better understanding of their commitments to our schools.
We hope to see you there! Please feel free to share this invitation with other parents and guardians who may be interested.
Looking forward to a great discussion.

One thing worse than not voting is voting uninformed.
Know who you’re voting for, and know what you’re voting for.
A provincial general election has been called.
Election day is February 27.
A few words of wisdom from those before us to inspire engagement and motivate change:

— Proverbs 14:15"Democracy is not freedom. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch."
— Benjamin Franklin (attributed)"Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote."
— George Jean Nathan"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must undergo the fatigue of supporting it."
— Thomas Paine"When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan."
— Proverbs 29:2I am Canadian, a free Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship God in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, free to choose those who govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind."
